| Now that is steep …. |
I had to wait until the camp police would open the gates this morning. A lovely cool ride over the mountain twisties first thing. Then the long slog to here - temp got up to 35° - just too bloody hot and add to the mixture a bit of high wind - all made for a fun 5 hour ride.
At last I arrived here at Fontainebleau and a very odd loft accommodation. See photos. But shock horror my Garmin would not turn on after the ride - the rubber power button has fallen off and now I panic… I need my Garmin - bugger. So I set about writing out the directions to Caen Port…. Then I switched my mobile phone on to use data roaming …. And after an hour of faffing about Gertie decided to switch on - I hope I does so in the morning !!! Those that know me, I need navigation - even with it I can get lost in a carpark!?!?
Note : No WiFi, no A/c Arghhhhh
I am now sat in a local bar with a cold beer - it being Sunday everything is closed until 6pm - so I either return to the loft apartment and cook or wait until 6pm. Too much to think about…. At present I sat next to two young ladies swapping travel tales and trying to out do each other with tales of daring dos and horror tails …. Dutch v Australian I think.
Tomorrow it’s a gentle ride to the port at Caen and then a ride from Portsmouth to home….
