Texas...

Now in Amarillo Texas...  I left the site this morning early about 7:15. Had a reasonable sleep, the family next door gave me a cold beer... The weather was fine up until about 12 noon when the wind got up a bit....aaaarrrhhhh.

I stopped off at a few Route 66 markers on the way, Hydro, Lucille Roadhouse and the 66 Museum at Weatherford.  Then on to Elk City ( not really a city at all)!!  Still avoiding the Interstates, I then headed towards Sweetwater and the Texas Border, then Pampa and finally Amarillo.  The ride was long and hot, not a lot to see.. Lots of land, lots of oil wells, and huge gatherings of cows.....  Sort of McDonald's pantry really...  More winds....

Another biker has arrived on a BMW GS and we are now booked to go to the local Steak House and are being collected from our site at 6:30 by a big white limo with cow horns on the front.... Texas Style....

Tomorrows plan is the Cadillac Ranch and then Tucumcari and Las Vegas.... May even take in the Grave of Billy the Kid...
